The school day starts at 8am, when assembly is held. During assembly, students recite Surah Fatiha, the dua said upon waking up and then the National Anthem. The headteacher then talks to them for a few minutes to get them prepared for the day’s lessons, after which the Quranic lesson starts until 11.20am.

Foundation (Nursery/Reception):
The foundation school day starts with assembly at 8am. After assembly, they have breakfast- Nursery students from 8:05am – 8:40am and Reception students from 8:05am – 8:20am. After their much-anticipated breakfast, they have Quranic lessons until 9:20am. Reception students work on their Arabic alphabet whilst the Nursery students listen to the last 10 chapters of the Quran which they recite along with and eventually progress on to other chapters of the Quran.

Foundation -Nursery/Reception (closing time)
After their Quranic lesson which ends at 9:20am, the students have a double and a single period before going for break at 11:20am until 12:00pm. When they come back from break, Reception students have two double periods before ending the day at 2:40pm, whilst Nursery students have a double and two single periods before ending the day at 2:40pm. On Friday, the day ends at 12:50pm.

Year 1 to Year 11 (closing time)
After their Quranic lesson which ends at 11: 20am, the students go for break until 12:00pm. When they come back from break, they have 3 double periods of lessons lasting 80mins each and end the day at 4:30pm. On Friday, the day ends at 12:50pm.

Breaks
The whole school goes for break from 11:20am -12:00pm. The school provides school meals which students can opt into at a very reasonable price or they can choose to bring their own food to school. After having their mouth-watering food, the girls play in the school yard, whilst the boys play football in the field.
We also break off from 2:40pm -3:05pm for Zuhr salah. It is not a snack break but some students cease this opportunity to have a light snack and a refreshing drink.

Physical exercise (PE):
All the classes in the school have PE for 40 minutes, once a week, apart from Nursery and Reception classes that have it daily.

Observation room
The school has an observation room where students are checked if they feel unwell. Parents are called if there is a concern so they can choose the most appropriate action to take, but for more serious cases, they are rushed to Kanifing General Hospital (the nearest hospital) to receive immediate medical treatment, and their parents informed.
