Admissions

Al-Furqan’s admissions process is much simpler than you think. We have laid out the school’s admissions process step by step to help you fully understand all that must happen before you can enroll your child as a student of the school.

1.) Age ranges per class
The first step in the admissions process is for you to decide which class your child should attend based on the class age-ranges below. Our intake starts from 3 years. Below are our age ranges for each class.

Foundation Stage Primary Stage Lower Secondary Stage Upper Secondary Stage
Nursery – 3 Years Year 1 – 5 Years Year 7 – 11 Years Year 10 – 14 Years
Reception - 4 Years Year 2 – 6 Years Year 8 – 12 Years Year 11 – 15 Years
Year 3 – 7 Years Year 9 – 13 Years Year 12 – 16 Years
Year 4 – 8 Years Year 13 – 17 Years
Year 5 – 9 Years
Year 6 – 10 Years

A child must be of the required age by 1st September of any given academic year to qualify for the class he/she should be in.

2.) Filling an Application
The second step of the admissions process is to fill an application online, via our website. With your application, you will need to provide general information about your child- uploading the child’s passport or birth certificate, passport or birth certificate of one of the child’s parent or guardian, previous school attended, overall school performance and your reason for wanting your child to come to Al-Furqan.

For all students registering for year one and above, a transfer letter should be sent to [email protected] from the child’s current school.

3.) Assessment Before admission, all would-be students with the required aged will be assessed on their English literacy and Numeracy skills. This is usually a basic test to ascertain whether students are fit to join a particular class.

4.) Admission
Upon successful completion of their assessment, admission is granted provided there is space. In the event where there is no space available, they are put on a waiting list until there is space. Whenever a space becomes available, their parents will be contacted for admission.

5.) Payment
After a student is accepted, a place is secured for the student pending the full payment being made in 2 days. Once payment is made and the child starts attending, the fee is non-refundable.
