At Al-Furqan Islamic International School, we offer a comprehensive and balanced curriculum that integrates academic excellence with Islamic development. Our programme spans from Nursery to IGCSE (Year 11), nurturing students intellectually, morally, and Islamically.
*Cambridge Curriculum* (Nursery to Year 11)
We follow the internationally acclaimed Cambridge curriculum, providing a solid foundation in English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, and Humanities. Our students are prepared for Cambridge Checkpoint exams in Year 6 and Year 9, culminating in IGCSE examinations in Year 11. The curriculum promotes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and global readiness, equipping students with the skills needed for higher education and future success.
Islamic Curriculum
Our Islamic studies programme is designed to instill strong faith, character, and understanding of core Islamic principles. From early years through secondary, students study:
- Aqidah (Islamic creed)
- Fiqh (jurisprudence)
- Seerah (life of the Prophet ﷺ)
- Hadith (Prophetic traditions)
- Adab and Akhlaq (manners and character)
- Tafsir (Qur'anic interpretation)
Lessons are delivered in an age-appropriate and engaging manner, fostering love for Islam and practical application in daily life.
Arabic Language Curriculum
Our Arabic curriculum is tailored for non-native speakers, using the Medina Arabic Series as its foundation. Formal instruction begins in Year 1 and continues through Year 11, focusing on reading, writing, grammar, and conversational fluency. The programme supports both Islamic studies and Qur'anic comprehension, helping students connect deeply with the Arabic language.
Qur'anic Curriculum
Qur'anic education begins in Nursery with the Arabic alphabet, followed by Qaidah Nooraniyah in Reception and Year 1 to establish correct pronunciation and tajweed. From Year 2 onward, students begin structured Qur'an memorisation, progressing steadily each year. By Year 9, students are expected to complete full memorisation of the Qur'an (Hifz), with continued revision and tajweed refinement through Year 11. This journey nurtures Islamic discipline and a lifelong connection to the Qur'an
